Terms & Conditions
Effective 6 October 2026 · supersedes the version of 22 October 2022
By downloading or using Lua, these terms apply to you, so it is worth reading them. The app, its trademarks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property belong to Renato Balcázar. You may not copy or modify the app or any part of it, attempt to extract its source code from a published build, translate it, or make derivative versions of it.
Lua's source is public at github.com/renatojobal/LuaMultiplatform and whatever licence is stated in that repository governs the code itself.
Changes to the app
I may change Lua, or charge for it or for services within it, at any time. I will never charge you for anything without making it entirely clear what you are paying for beforehand.
Your device
Lua stores and processes data on your device, and keeping your phone secure is your responsibility. I would advise against jailbreaking or rooting it: doing so removes protections the operating system relies on, may expose you to malware, and may stop Lua working properly or at all.
Connectivity and charges
Some functions may require an internet connection, over Wi-Fi or your mobile network. I cannot take responsibility for Lua not working at full capability if you have no connection or no data allowance left. Your agreement with your network operator still applies, including roaming charges if you use the app outside your home territory with data roaming on. If you are not the bill payer for the device, I assume you have their permission to use it.
Accuracy and liability
Lua computes astronomical times from your location using published algorithms. I work to keep it correct, but I rely on third-party libraries and data for part of that. Do not rely on Lua where accuracy is safety-critical — navigation, aviation, maritime use or any similar purpose. I accept no liability for loss, direct or indirect, arising from relying wholly on this functionality.
Equally, I cannot take responsibility for how you use the app, including letting your device run out of battery when you need it.
Availability and updates
Lua is available on Android and iOS. System requirements for either platform may change, and you may need to install updates to keep using the app. I do not promise to keep updating Lua indefinitely, nor that it will always work with the version of the operating system you have installed. I may also stop providing the app and terminate its use at any time without notice. Unless I tell you otherwise, on termination the rights granted to you under these terms end and you must stop using the app and remove it from your device.
Third-party services
Lua uses third-party services with their own terms:

I may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the effective date above.
